The Netquest Research Lab

There’s no doubt that data science has become an integral part of market research. For Netquest, this is not big news. We’ve been doing it for years.

The Netquest Research Lab started as a project called “Research on Research.” Its initial purpose was to improve the way data was collected through surveys by partnering with the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM) at Pompeu Fabra’s University. That project has now evolved into a genuine research lab.

The Netquest Research Lab is headquartered in Barcelona and continues to work closely with RECSM. Our goal is to help companies improve the reliability of online surveying in the days of social media and hyperconnectivity. We are constantly conducting research to discover new ways to implement advanced data science methods for contemporary online research.

The Netquest Research Lab has an eye for academic excellence and is actively developing all kinds of forward thinking research projects that contribute to furthering the market research industry. Additionally, the projects help to consistently improve the reliability and representativeness of the Netquest Panels, which in return, improves our ongoing panel products and services. 

Who we are

Carlos Ochoa

Chief Client Officer, Netquest

Engineering degree in telecommunications (UPC) and has experienced in consulting, sales and product management. Formerly Operations Director at Netquest, he is currently in charge of defining and implementing the marketing strategy of the company as the Chief Client Officer. He is also fostering innovation projects in the quality data collection area for Netquest as well.

Melanie Revilla

Research specialist, RECSM

Has a degree in statistics and economics from the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de L'Administration Économique (ENSAE-ParisTech, Paris, France) and a Master of Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (GSE). She received her Ph.D. from the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF, Barcelona) in 2012. She is currently a researcher in the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM) and adjunt professor at UPF.

Ezequiel Paura

Data Scientist, Netquest

Data enthusiast. Graduated in Political Science (University of Buenos Aires), MSc in Political Research (UPF), MA in Political Behavior (Konstanz University). Joined the Netquest team in May 2016, currently leading the Data Science Department and coordinating Netquest’s Research LAB activities.

Anna Bellido

Data Analyst, Netquest

She studied Computer Science (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC) and Mathematics (Universitat de Barcelona, UB), and got a Master in Computing (UPC). She spent several years doing research in Psychology using Virtual Reality (UB) as a predoctoral student (currently writing the thesis). She recently moved to data science in the market research field at Netquest.
